A Trip Down Memory Lane
I'm cleaning my computer because it's been having problems lately, or, well, more problems than normal.
So first I had to tackle all the files that are on my desktop, 25% of which are unfinished stories (another 25% are videos of my boys, and the rest are actual icons that belong there).
I have too many unfinished stories, and some of them I think could be really good... if I ever get to finish them.
I found a rough draft of a J2 fic that I started more than a year ago. It's a J2 fic, already got 3,600 words, and I still love the plot. I might actually finish this one this summer.
Anyhow, I started organizing a bit, and found a bunch of old fics that I (also) never finished.
My second ever attempt at fanfic, written in 2000: A reluctant Buffy/Angelus fic in which Buffy got pregnant.
I got past the 2000 words, and the story idea isn't bad, the writing on the other hand... It's not horrible, but I'm happy to say that my writing skills as well as my English have improved over the years.
My third attempt at fanfic, written in 2001: A Buffy/Willow fic... my first attempt at slash!
I never posted either story, and I unfortunately lost my first ever fanfic... It was Buffy/Angel.
I didn't try writing again until 2006, which is when I started dabbling in NCIS and Numb3rs slash.
None of them are really good, but I posted a few.
Found one unfinished fic of Numb3rs, it had potential: Charlie as a drug addict. I'll never finish it though.
All these old fics will never be finished, but I've got fond memories of them and they're still important as they are my baby steps to me being able to write pretty good SPN and RPS.
I'll save the files; I'm sure I'll get a kick out of them when I'll take another trip down memory lane ten years from now... I wonder what my thoughts will be when I read my current stories in 2020.
