Hey look, she's posting something! And it's even fannish!
Just watched the 2007 Spacey Awards, I think the fourth? year the show has been on. For those of you not Canadian or not into things Canadian, Space: The Imagination Station is our version of the Sci-Fi Channel only way more fun. Each year they host an awards show, with some awards voted on by the fans, such as "Favourite TV show" or "The New Character you Love to Hate." The three hosts travel around presenting the awards to actors, directors, anyone who'll give an acceptance speech, and it's usually tons o' fun.
SGA got mucho airplay this year, just as SG-1 used to (try Youtube for Richard Dean Anderson's hilarious acceptance speeches of years past). Lots of cast members playing around for the cameras (casting spoilers galore, of course, as they're on set filming for the 4th season).
SGA won the award for Favourite Television Show, and most of the cast gathered in the gateroom for the acceptance speech, ending in a tussle for control of the alien-head statuette (I'm not sure, but I think David Nykl jumped on Jason Momoa's back at the end). And David Hewlett won for Favourite New TV Character (the awards are for last year, and Space only got the rights to start showing Season 1 last year). His speech will rival RDA's for repeats on Space specials, running around the set screaming in delirious joy.
Plus, fun moments with Katee Sakhoff (some BSG spoilers in her acceptance speech) and Michael Rosenberg (with hair!).
For Canadians, Space will rebroadcast later tonight and, given past history, at least a few times in the next few weeks. For everyone else....well, I don't have the technical capability, but I'm sure someone somewhere will remedy the situation in the usual ways.
