So Thursday, one of my top 5 favorite bands, came out with a cd/dvd set called Kill The House Lights. The single on this new joint is called "Ladies and Gentlemen, My Brother, The Failure". I love this title, I love this song, and the subject line above this little rant is my favorite line from the song.
It's a beautiful reflection that even though we may all look the same, some people are deemed successful and others, well, not so much. I finally feel like I'm being successful. I have a great job, I'm doing very well in school, my family is great and growing (Melissa's pregnant again) and I'm set to really make a lot of interesting endeavours in 2008.
But things are also getting more difficult with my friends here. My plans for 2008 don't really include them...so they've stopped calling...and I'm not by any means saying that their lives should be revolving around me, far from it in fact. But it just seems like since I've told them the score, they are distant.
More on all of this later.
Never let them take you alive,
