I don't have much to say. That's a good way to start a blog post, right?
There's a new episode of
TVZ up.
I found my Nintendo DS after 3 weeks of cleaning and organizing. It was basically just in a closet under something and I didn't look hard enough. But my house is in better shape, so it's win-win.
Win-win-win, actually, because I'm going to bring it on the plane ride to Seattle this Saturday. I'm excited.
My friend Ken was the host of Loveline last night, in place of Dr. Drew, who had something or other come up. Ken is a doctor, as well as an actor and comedian (a physician who specializes in internal medicine). So he's a good fit. It'll air over here on the East Coast tonight, and I usually listen to it as I drive home from teaching my writing class. I'm excited. I told him I was proud of him and he seemed to appreciate it.
Tonight is the final class of my 3rd semester teaching Writing for Comics. Good crop of students, and I have some cool thumbnails for them by various pro artists. I think it'll provide a great discussion. I've been invited to teach there again. I'm taking a small break and will begin again in later August or early September.
I got to make a 30-second tv commercial at work. It was a fun project. I wrote the script and worked with the production company to make it as I saw it. Everyone here seemed very happy with it (you can tell they mean it because they don't ask you to edit and change things). A feather in the cap.
I have an idea for a comic book that I think is cool. Instead of pitching it to a comic publisher, I am thinking of taking it to book publishers, which would mean getting an agent first. I'll have to talk to friends and see what can be done. It's an anthology idea, but I think it will appeal to a mainstream audience.
