Great Stuff

Man, I read Charles Burns' comic book BLACK HOLE over a week ago, and I'm still thinking about it. It was an impressive piece of fiction. Apparently David Fincher will be directing a film adaptation of it. I would imagine the material will be well-served in his hands.

Last week Krissy had a great Easter dinner at my Dad's place. Prime rib and plenty of delicious side dishes. Always a treat to get a home-cooked meal. I don't cook for myself very often at all. I kind of like cooking, but after you put in your day at work, I'm wiped.

I've been watching Season Two of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA as well as the RAZOR miniseries, trying to catch up in time for the Season Four debut in April. I still need to rent or buy Season Three.

I've been pretty busy drawing for my super-secret comic book project. I am pretty well on the way with all the drawing. I am both penciling and inking it, and I intend to letter it as well. The book is full-color though, and I'm not sure that I want to handle that aspect. I'm strongly considering outsourcing that for some sort of page rate.

I had signed up for my company's softball team this Spring, but unfortunately the team wasn't able to get the Wednesday evening slot they wanted. Instead, they got Tuesdays, so I had to withdraw because that's the night I teach my Writing for Comics class. Speaking of that, I'll be taking my class on a field trip this weekend to Geppi's Entertainment Museum in Baltimore. It's a very large comic book history museum and if you appreciate comics, you owe it to yourself to visit at least once. It's very impressive.

Finally, on the nerdiest note I can think of, I now have all of the Battlestar Galactica minimates except for the "Kobol Six" variant figure in the white dress and some sort of "Elf" version of a Cylon that was a giveaway at a convention or something. I like the little guys.
