Oh dear, only 3 days to go til I go back. Aaaah! Four months holiday is SO not long enough :) Very nervy about Saturday, especially the people I will be living with this year. That's always the worse bit for me - I hope they won't be mean again like the last 3 years..... I can already see it: no TV reception (again), room the size of the cupboard under the stairs, computer/internet not working properly, no mobile reception (again) and no doubt it'll rain on moving day (again). Just to make the point, 'again' in this context comes from (bad) experience. Ooops, too many brackets in that bit!
As if all that's not bad enough, I might actually have to do some work when I get back, which I'm not too thrilled about either. Have been doing some work last couple of weeks - the films I've watched so far have been pretty good, but no doubt a two hour seminar late on a Friday night - knowing my luck! - examining the montage of the credits page will knock that out of me.
My preparation actually led me to spend 6 and a half hours in Chelmsford Library on Saturday sitting upstairs as a customer. Apart from the slog of European studies theory, which may - fingers crossed - turn out to be vaguely interesting, my main observations of the day were:
1) You can't hear the tannoy from the far side of upstairs. A good hiding place if DM or D1 for future reference :)
2) Customers are stoopid. During one hour, I counted 13 people trying to log onto PN20 something without having pre-booked. *Gentle shake of the head*.
Elsewhere, Chelmsford Borough Council are coming across pretty crappy to me at the mo. Tomorrow's the hearing for the licence application of the pub over the road. Rubber stamps at the ready. Secondly, apparently they decided in 2001 that the proposed school in Beaulieu Park wouldn't be built. So, how come it took'em til last week to tell the people that live there? Thirdly, the council sent the invoices for the Park and Ride to the government....at the 2002 estimates (since when the cost of the scheme has increased by £1.5m). What a load of ninnies.
My Alias marathon has taken a brief breather - for packing. Series' 1 and 2 now complete. Also, briefly interrupted by Series 4 of Six Feet Under, which I never got round to watching. Honestly, it's all go go go!!!
Finally, in hommage to Klara's post about Futurama, here's Dr. Zoidberg. Nice.
Keep safe x
