I ruled...
Totally called the Derby today -- 1, 2, and 3 places, all correct. A little off on the timing of the race, but it didn't matter 'cause no one else got them all in order.
Donation to scholarship fund, coming up! (half of my winnings go to Newcomb's lawsuit, however)
FILLING
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 cup or 1 stick melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped English walnuts or pecan halves
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Blend all filling ingredients. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 30 minutes.
(traditional recipes call for walnuts, but I use pecans; traditional recipes also typically have bourbon instead of vanilla)
