finals was so great! you guys are like the new orleans saints of marching band - so much to overcome, and such a great result. i was proud to be from triton sunday!
it was so cool to see all the seniors get up there at the banquet and act so poised, offering advice and encouragement to the rest of the band. but the best part was seeing juli fichera win rookie of the year.
i met juli when we did once upon a mattress, when she had just finished 6th grade. she was a ball of energy, and i liked her. she always wanted to come when the older kids were hanging out, and however awkward this could at time be, i admired it. she sought what she wanted, and that's important.
her in high school makes me feel old. i worked with her on guys and dolls jr, joseph..., frog and toad, once on this island jr, and beauty and the beast.
i'm so glad that she did awesome this season, because i had my doubts. last year, she got quite snippish, and was acting out during rehearsals, especially in select choir.
she's done with that now, and should make amy and her family very proud.
and tom kaminski! omg, wow, that blew me away. what a kid. i actually miss that little pisshead. i really do!
