I shouldn't, I really can't afford it, but I'm going! And in good furry fashion, I don't care! :)
For those of you playing at home, last year I officially -- and finally! -- became a member of the Anthrocon staff! Which means my membership is FREE! And I'm working the art show, where I'll also be displaying some pieces once again. I managed to swap a shift at work so I could trade my Tuesday off for Friday, meaning I'll get to be there all day!
This will actually be the bright spot of 2013 for me. This year has blown goats, and not in a good way, and the furry reference is accidental but really cool because of it. Oh, this'll be fun too, this year an artist who goes by Hibbary will have a display in the art show entitled Memento Morti, Latin for "remember that you will die". According to art show director PeterCat, it "is an artistic or symbolic reminder of the inevitability of death. I'm told it was very popular among the Flemish artists." I'd replied back how thrilled I was to be in constant sight of something to remind me that my father just passed away. Nothing like having my favorite time of the year ruined. Personally, I'd delight in making Hibbary a part of her display.
Not that I'm bitter about the idea or anything.
In other news, I'm trying to grab what contract work I can in the next two months to keep the house out of this year's tax sale and to keep Patty from spending it on paying bills when I do! It's been storming on and off for the past 2 weeks which has kept our phones at work busy. Discovered today our PA tax return was never received, that's always fun. Grass needs mowed. Looking for a home for my dad's car which may need an alternator and does need a flex pipe. It's 2:01 AM and past my bedtime. At age 52 1/2 I still think farts are funny as heck. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic really ain't as bad as people make it out to be.
I ate way more today (yesterday?) than I should have. At work I'd misread an email, as I eating at my leftover chicken curry I noticed that it was today (yesterday?) that Armstrong was celebrating 4th of July with an indoor "cookout". I stashed by curry in favor of a hamburger with fixin's, and came back after my shift for some other stuff including ice cream with whipped cream and toppings after my pasta salad and other stuff. Then home where Patty and I had sandwiches from my nephew's pizza shop. Come midnight, then I had the lasagna with garlic bread from Sunday dinner. I'll be interested in seeing what kind of dreams I have. Never any good ones, I can't tell you how long it's been since I dreamt about Sabrina. Which, by the way, is slowly rolling again, I'm very happy to say.
And that's what's happening. This is fun! Life is good! My anus is bleeding!
Sorry. But admit it, that cartoon is funny as hell.
