Up is up!
Up - the latest Pixar movie - is wonderful. I'm sure you've already figured that out for yourselves from other reviews (or, you know, by actually seeing it). Touching, funny, clever, gorgeous to look at (I saw the 3D version, which is well worth it). In short, everything I expect from Pixar. It's a bold move to have a cranky old man as the hero of an animated kids movie, but Pixar pulls it off in style, demonstrating that as usual they understand that movies are not about effects and looking great, but about Story.
I enjoyed the short at the beginning too, but couldn't help wondering why that one poor cloud was doing all the hard jobs of making spiky, snappy babies while the others loafed around making puppies and kittens. (Which makes no sense unless you've seen it, I guess.)
