I think that 50% of bands has a 'Neil Diamond Song.'

By 'Neil Diamond Song,' I mean a song that the band wrote but was more popular (or better, but not always both) when someone else sang it. Examples would be The Darkness' 'Get Your Hands Off My Woman', by Ben Folds (better), and Bob Marley's 'I Shot the Sheriff', by Eric Clapton (more popular).

It's true. Just like Neil Diamond with Red Red Wine (UB40) and Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon (Urge Overkill), sometimes bands can write good/popular (one or the other) songs; they just can't always play them the best.
