This is going to be a three part journal essay in the humorous conversations I have had the past few days, as well as a mournful event that has happened to me. If you are like me and want to hear the bad news first then continue reading. Otherwise, skip to number 2 and 3...and then read the mournful event that is number one.
1. My computer Died.
I spent Christmas 2005 with my family in Sarasota, FL. While I was there I helped my Dad clean the garage. While cleaning the garage we came across my Dad's Mac SE/30. He offered me this wonderful gift, he thought it would be cool if I fixed it up and kept it as a token of computer history...seeing as I am a computer scientist, and seeing as I have a fondness of computers I accepted.
I fixed up the computer and was soon playing the games I played as a child. The memories were wonderful...unfortunately they didn't last long. Yesterday I was kicked off the mac with an error I had never seen before. It turns out the power supply has degraded due to aging(if you aren't a technical person, it means it broke...real bad, and needs to go to the computer doctor.).
I am determined to fix this computer again. It will require me to buy several tools I have never used, seen or heard of. It will be a challenge, and I guarantee it will cost more then it is worth. But it will be worth it.
2. Jackie Bickel added me as a friend.
Jackie Bickel added me as a friend in facebook!!! I don't know who she is, but she seems to have a good personality, so I confirmed her as my friend. I sent her a message, asking her a few things about herself, she replied...but I get the feeling she is a little weirded out by me wanting to actually be her friend. We'll see how it turns out...
A warning to future random people who write on my wall, send me a message, or add me as a friend. I will pursue a friendship with you. You can't go half heartily into a virtual friendship with me and expect to get away with just that...It is all or nothing.
3. Rachel called me out of the blue.
Long story short...I picked up the phone and said hello, we talk and said goodbye.
Short story longer...I picked up the phone and said hello. She seemed busy and said she wanted me to say hello to her significant other. It was another girl. I was very confused by this. And continued to have a nice conversation with her "significant other". After a very nice 2 minute conversation, she realized it is me, and I realize it is Vanessa. We laugh it off and had a real conversation.
That might not seem that funny, but you have to realize that Vanessa and Rachel are not significant others...but rather really good friends.
Well I am about to hit the limit on the number of letters I can have in a journal entr
