It was a quiet weekend at Rancho Gerrib, which I spent getting the place ready to sell.
"Sell your house?" you ask. "Are you nuts?"
Maybe. However, I would like a new one, preferably nicer, and now's the time to buy. I've been in this place for almost a decade, so even with the haircut I'm taking on the down market (and Chicago's not down as much as the coasts) I can still make a profit. I figure what I loose on the sell side I can make on the buy side. Lastly, if I don't get any decent offers, well I'll just keep living here. I don't have to sell.
At any rate, part of the "get ready to sell" was pull my tomato plants out. My only south-facing exposure is in a little courtyard going to the front door, so they really pulled down the "curb appeal." One set of plants, the heirlooms, had produced about a dozen edible tomatoes, while the other, the super-duper hybrids, had a ton of large green ones. At any rate, I got some fresh tomatoes, and there's a week's supply ripening inside.
It's raining and chilly here, and I'm hungry, so I'm signing off for now.
