So, I was going to swear off of politics, but today's news brings something too juicy not to comment on.

But my understanding may be faulty.

Liddy burgled and, sure, tampered with an election. That's bad.

Ayers blew stuff up and tried to kill people.

How is Liddy a terrorist?

Unh, I'm a Defender of McCain? does that come with a t-shirt?

Committing felonies to disrupt an election is a serious crime. Much like Ayers, Liddy was trying to disrupt the democratic process.

Again, I think McCain is a good man. My irritation here is hypocrisy. It's okay for right-wingers to hang out with known and well-advertised felons, but sitting on a board with a guy who's not advertising his past is something we need to investigate?

Ayers did not tr to kill people. The WU bombings were specifically designed to destroy property but not lives.

Liddy plotted actual political assassinations, as well as bombings.

Ayers has lived a life of service since that time.

Liddy has continued to advocate violence against the government.

And in terms of the relationships, McCain remains much, MUCH cozier with Liddy than Obama has EVER been with Ayers.
