I don't suppose anyone could recommend a good, comprehensive, history of Persia/Iran? Ideally from prehistory to the present.
It is primarily for pleasure but I( do have a broad knowledge of the topic so in depth, monolithic and challenging are all acceptable qualities as well, just so long as it's a good read...
