It would be good for Chris to get away, too. Get away and clear his head, think about what was going on, what they could do about Gordon. How they'd finally tell him they were married. It would have to be said eventually, they both knew it, but Lennox just wasn't sure how or when Chris wanted to tell him.
Maybe someone would save them both the trouble and spill it accidentally.

"Tempting, though," he murmured as they reached the canoe and he set the bag down to start turning the thing upright.
If he had his way, they'd be gone for as long as possible, only come back when they absolutely needed food. Either that or in time for the Veggies. He knew Lennox might have different plans, though.

Hal yipped quietly, running around Lennox once before she sat down in the sand again and watched them work. "She's really fucking helpful, eh?" he asked with a laugh, looking down at Hal while she sat in the sand and stared at them.

He glanced over his shoulder at Hal who bounced her tail against the sand when she caught his eye. "Hey, if we get really hungry, she might come in useful," he said, clearly joking, though Hal seemed to whine argumentatively in response.
