Last weekend, Wildcard weekend in the NFL, I only picked 1 correct winner. Indianapolis. Turns out they were the only home team to win, so that means I picked all home teams. After seeing 3 road teams win, I did some thinking. I know NFL coaches say the toughest thing to do in the NFL is to win on the road. I imagine that means winning on the road during playoffs is at least twice as hard. What I concluded was that it takes a special kind of team to win on the road during playoffs, and it's somewhat difficult to pick out which teams will pull it off and which teams won't. With that said, here are my picks for this weekend: Pittsburgh over New York, Atlanta over St. Louis, Minnesota over Philadelphia, and Indianapolis over New England. I was going back and forth on the Philadelphia vs. Minnesota game because I think Minnesota showed something when they went into Green Bay and beat them by 14, and Philadelphia is just not the same without Terrell Owens. But Donovan McNabb can definitely carry the team on his shoulders and win the game. I think that game is too close to call really... we'll see. As for Indianapolis beating New England, I really do think they'll get it done. This isn't the same New England defense that intercepted Peyton Manning 4 times in last year's AFC championship game, and this isn't the same Peyton Manning, either. I honestly don't see how New England can stop them this year. Sunday certainly has the more interesting games of the weekend.
