Ok after a lot of worry, and not sure what exactly was going wrong with my camera... I still can't always take a pic in certain settings... so that is frakin annoying, but at least I can take landscape and take pics of my kitties. So it takes some of the worry away. Some, not all. I am still going to call the place that sold me the camera to see if ( Read more... )

hehe! Ya she doesn't always look pissed. I think it's the flash that will annoy her. Hence her pissed look.

AHAHA!! Ya well you'll see the glasses a few times. I don't like wearing them actually. They are old (like 4-5 years old).

really.... well maybe we can swap tips. I have a question into the Nikon people why my flash and some settings don't work! grr!

Well mine is an N55 and when I first got it the flash didn't work at all.. or was it the auto zoom? I think it was the auto zoom.. but I bought the floor model so I assumed that was the problem and they sent me a new one which, knock wood, has been fine ever since. Although granted I don't have as much time for photography as I once did (took all my classes with my grandfathers ancient SLR, which was very good to me... my sis has used my camera for her class so she knows more than I...) and I haven't really played with all the settings...

So basically I'm no help. lol. Although if you don't have the manual (I didn't) there is a website online where you can download it in a pdf file... which was helpful in me learning all the weird symbols... : )

the sad thing is I have used this camera in a professional setting before, hence why I wasn't worried when I bought my own. But, it is a refurbished camera, but sent from Nikon's factory (possibly than to the photo place i bought it from) so sometimes there is a bad one even through testing... but common! why me?! *sniffles*

I have the whole kit and caboodle. I have instructions in English AND Spanish, you know because we now have to have everything bi-lingual these days. *rolls eyes* I even upgraded the package so I could get the hi-speed memory card (which really is nice for the continuous action shots... however my cats usually are playing when I am trying to work) and i have this awesome camera case which just looks so cute sitting next to me.

I figure after work I'll run up to Waco (20 min away) and go to Best Buy and see if their service pp can help! They also sell the D40... the N55 and old SLRs are awesome cameras! they are definantly work horses and do their job well.

I know she is! my friend came over the other day to help color my hair, and she took a look at Aset and gapped! Yup she's the little thing we found under a car! And Isis was being particularly adorable yesterday! maybe because she knew mommy didn't feel good.

Yeah!!! Kitty spam!! can't have enough cuties! (in pictures at least)

Kitty pics *squeels* Cute as always :)
The camera news aren't so great. Even though I know a few things about photography, I've never owned a Nikon and I don't speak your language that well ;) Call the shop or "work the net" - hopefully that helps *crooses fingers for your camera and that my canon will be OK, when it arrives NEXT WEEK !!!*

YEAH!!! I searched the net for a bit and found some answers, but I'm gonna bring it to a place that sells the camera (not where I bought it cause they are in New York) and see if something can be done. If not right away, than I have it working enough to make do for now. I know how well this camera can work, and that's what's the most frustrating thing is!
