Daniel smiled at Teal’c. “When haven’t we been friends?”
Teal’c crooked his head and was about to protest that he and had only known Samantha Carter for a few years. Surely Daniel Jackson remembered that.
Daniel held up a hand. “It’s a figure of speech. I know we have only been friends for a few years. But it feels as if we have known each other longer.” Daniel paused and looked out the window. “A lot longer.”
Teal’c nodded slowly. He had grown to regard SG-1 the same way. But he sensed that Sam and Daniel’s friendship was different for another reason. Before he could ask, Sam came back in and handed out drinks, pausing before she sat down and looking at the two men.
“What?”
“Just talking about our friends and how we are very glad to have them.”
Sam smiled. She nodded and agreed. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of friends then right here.” She patted Daniel lightly on the knee and gave Teal’c a big smile.
