(no subject)
Note to self: Do not run into brick walls at high speeds with bikes.
Today was a day off for me, or at least in the morning time. I got up around 11:00 after one of the researchers on the hall, Abby, calme and knocked on my door to give me the lowdown on what had been decided for todays 4th festivities.
I got up, and looked out the windown, realizing what a o' so beautiful day it was and decided to go for a bike ride...this my dear readers was the beginning of my downfall.
I am biking along happily when I see a very large group in front of Byrnes Auditorium, and at the same time, I fail to realize the bike, that I am not giving my full attention is with all the fury of a vengful woman,..is leading me to a fiery demise. I run into the wall, I can see the replay in my mind now, things seemed slower, the air was calmer, and the large group of kids in the distant background seemed to fade as my bike with lustful contact with the really ubberly mean wall. It came to a stop, the bike of course,. My body however did not. I commenced to be thrown forward like a babies peas liberated from the high chair.
It hurt
But, despite the pain, I sucked it up..considering I didn't really feel it then anyway, and finished my bike ride. Which was really good might I add.
So now, I'm sitting at my desk, with two socks on my right ankle trying to keep the swelling down. Bleh to all
But on the more so brighter aspect of things..
Today's plans!
I'm looking forward to the cookout at Alena's place! After that, I have to go work for two hours at the CY, then run back to my room and get ready for the Charlotte Fireworks show. It promises to be a fun filled evening of burning phosphorous killing random birds in the air...But that does make me think. I wonder how many bats and nocturnal fliers slowly glide towards the pretty blue sparkly thingies and then ultimately realize that they too, have been tricked and will now suffer the fate shared by moo moo cows and piggies all over the world...which is to be unionized, but thats a different story.
But now, it is 12:55, and I must prepare myself for my company coming to visit...
