no work!
I was getting dressed* and the house phone rings. Emily answers and it's for me.
Kat: "Hi Newt."
Newt: "Hey."
K: "No one's coming in and it just started to snow harder so you could probably stay home."
N: "Yeah? I...I think I could do that."
K: "You think you could manage that?"
N: "Yeah, yeah I think I could."
K: "Ok. Go drink some hot chocolate."
N: "Ok, bye."
1. I don't work today and that's really happy-making. 2. My boss pretty much rocks. 3. This probably means we're actually still open so Erin will still get the hours she needs, which is why half of me was hoping work wouldn't be cancelled. 4. I bought tickets and reserved the hostel so I'm going to Seaside alone on the 26th and get to bring my bike. 5. Garrick will be coming over. Seriously yay.
I think it's funny that this feels like a Very Special day off and that I can do Big Things today, even though I get a weekend every five days...why don't weekends feel this joyful? And I don't even hate my job!
*Yesterday was a long sleeve, two t-shirts, wrist warmers, 2 pairs of gloves, a hoodie, a jacket, underwearbrasocksshoes, two pairs of pants, rain bibs, a scarf, a reflective vest, a hat, a backpack and a helmet.
