dealing rock for rock
trading them as commodities.
"he's my rock." "i got stoned."
what the river runs over:
does it stay the same?
does it resist the electric
touch of the water?
rocks stay barely touched,
cold, incalculate.
you can try to hug a rock.
you won't get much, though.
what the river runs over:
pebbles. smooth, changing,
taking directions for shape
from the hand of the water.
rocks will sink when thrown
across the water.
but pebbles?
they skip.
be a pebble.
