c'mon pilgrim, here are the
drowsy expanses of rusty roofs
& shoeless you; chosen under
sporadic green hands reaching

alone with face seaward flown
already & always most wondering
(you had read it all but then
listened; or so thought) :

the same in star-roofed cars,
in mazely ballrooms of sound
or here freezing, wishing
without a single petal to kiss;

but c'mon pilgrim, don't falter here
as hazily spin your moonlit hopes.
