Midnight Circus 8
Met up with Manami in Takadanobaba a bit early since we had some stuff to take care of before the doors of the livehouse opened at 5pm. Eventually stopped by McDonald's for a quick lunch, but had to give up on that since there was no air-condition in use there this day *death*. Returned to AREA, ran into Tomomi and Hizuru, and could finally take refuge from the heat inside the staircase leading to the entrance of the venue.
Once we entered the stairs, I was really surprised to see Lake there! She was the person who served as staff for THE VELVET for some time after they restarted activities, but I hadn't seen her in more than a year now.... Hope this means she'll be there at least once in a while from now on. I've missed her :)
This was Velvet's event, so their appearance would be preceeded by these other bands:

I watched ▲エウレカ and un, but had to go outside during the other three bands as I was waiting for a couple of phonecalls. But I'm glad they invited ヱレキテル式 and エルム anyway, they're good bands :) They also have quite a few fans, of which many stayed till the end, so it was a decent amount of people there. Sponsored events also means people who rarely come to normal events show up, so we got to meet people who we hadn't seen since the oneman in April!
THE VELVET finally came on stage a bit before 9pm.

For the encore Bera randomly appeared on stage in the old red yankii coat from Velvet Eden.... I didn't even think that thing still existed, so it was fun to get a flashback to that time x)
A couple of important announcements during the MC (which I mentioned on twitter last night, so many of you already know, but):
THE VELVET will release a full album containing 10 previously unreleased songs on November 18th. It's titled 「上映禁止の水玉キネマ」 (jouei kinshi no mizutama kinema), and will cost 3,150 yen.
Second, the event on November 25th turned out to be this year's second oneman that we had been waiting for an official announcement about :) It will take place at Takadanobaba AREA. Details on both this and the album are posted on MiMi's blog, here (Japanese).

Had to say goodbye to Manami after the live as she was flying off to France this morning! But the rest of us went out to eat, and ended up staying out until the sun came up. And now I'm dead, my head hurts, my back hurts, and I feel old, lol ^^; But it was fun.
Then my phone ran out of battery and I couldn't take more pictures f^^;
Guess I'll spend the next couple of days catching up on sleep again, before repeating this on Friday! Velvet has another live at AREA, and afterwards we've all been invited to Mana's place, so I'm really looking forward to that since she can't partake in the actual live that day.
