Just an update.
The Vagina Monologues were tonight.
I am in shock.
On a campus that originally tried to stop this project, there was one hell of a positive response.
We were expecting 50 people, tops... there were over 200... it got to the point where they first had to bring in more chairs, then had standing room only, then had to close the doors for risk of breaching fire code.
People laughed, cheered, bonded, cried... it was amazing.
It's really moving to me right now, and I'm emotional in a way i didn't think I would be.
It made me proud that this conservative christian campus was allowing women to have a voice like this on campus; to voice our sexuality and flex the muscles that we don't get the opportunity to do very often.
All in all, it was a really positive response, and I look forward to hearing what peoples reactions were, if their preconceived notions were changed in any way.
