Hinamatsuri...?!

Mar 10, 2006 19:07

Hello everyone ^^! Yeah, so I'm back from Kyoto.......but I never wanted to leave mainland Japan again. Especially Osaka *_*. But I don't have a lot of time right now and the computer rooms are closed on weekends during spring break so 'random gibberish about mainland Japan' will have to wait until next week. Oh right, new Holic chapter next week ( Read more... )

"That's also why you should stay for dinner," Doumeki concluded on his own. "As thanks for the good food."

"And now you complimented my cooking!" Watanuki shouted, the normal world as he knew skewing horribly. Even if it was a very backhanded compliment, it was a compliment, from Doumeki that stoic bastard, nonetheless.

"So stay," Doumeki said, doing his best to keep the hope that the other boy would from showing and making him nervous.
Watanuki glared at the now half-consumed bento, flicked his gaze up to Doumeki's face, over to the gates of the shrine, back to Doumeki's face, down to the bento again. He huffed out a long breath and swallowed. "I'll stay," he said, feeling a blush start to tinge at his cheeks. "But only if it's okay with your-"

"Shizuka! Your friend is staying for dinner, right?" A woman's voice called from somewhere inside the home behind them.

"-family," Watanuki finished, doing his best to ignore the satisfied smirk on Doumeki's face.

"I'd say it's fine," he said.

A glare firmly in place, Watanuki pretended to think deeply on his decision. "I guess then...happy birthday," Watanuki muttered finally, folding his arms crossly.

"I think it is," Doumeki said, turning his attentions back to the bento.

::End!::

Heheh...sorry for the fic in the comment, but as soon as you said fanfiction and Doumeki and birthday, the idea struck. So...hope you don't mind it. ^^'
Thank you so much for the translations. I also thought that the yumekai was willing to pay for the arrow a little more than what it turned out to be. I still think the yumekai is a little creepy...
And I know chapter 100 is all well and good and important, but the D/W fangirl in me can't wait for chapter 104. Just because. >>
By the by, the next Shounen Mag release will have Tsubasa. CLAMP took a week break for both xxxHolic and Tsubasa, and will be returning this coming week. ^^
I'm so glad you liked mainland Japan and that you had fun. So you went to Osaka? That must have been neat.

Arigatouuuuuuuuu Ali <3<3<3!!! Reading too much Japanese Holic fanfiction can almost make you forget how fun English fanfics can be ^^! Unfortunately a lot of the English Holic fanfic nowadays is quite...ah, if you've paid a visit to the lj D/W community lately you'll know what I mean *shudders*.
Sadly, I wouldn't recommend anyone visiting that anymore...

And the Yumekai is creepy in a sort...I mean what exactly is he...? A tapir..?? But obviously he seems to know his business. Otherwise Yuuko wouldn't have Watanuki sell 'his' dream to him ^-^.

chapter 104 *_*!!! Don't disappoint us Clamp-sensei XD!!!!!!

>>So you went to Osaka? That must have been neat.
I left my heart and soul on mainland Japan. It's just my body that's returned to Okinawa, really. Yeah, it was that good *_*. I will write an entry on my trip later, when I have more time....including pictures of my purchases *_*!!!

Ah, forgot something! Doumeki's place is a temple, not a shrine. People keep mixing it up, but they're actually quite easy to tell apart. And there's the fact that temples are buddhist and shrines are shintoist of course. Just wanted to mention it, to avoid confusion ^^.

Ah, thank you for the correction! Now I feel very dumb though. -///-' I thought his place looked a little different than other shrine places I've seen. *sigh* Sorry again, and thank you so much for correcting. I'm not too big on the religion stuff so I'm actually quite ignorant of the differences between them all and their practices and stuff. Oh well.
I'm glad you liked it up until the mix up though. Everytime I go to Japanese sites and see fanfic for xxxHolic, I almost cry because I can't really read it, and don't have enough time at any given moment to try and decipher at least the main idea. So I'm stuck with English fanfics. And most come from the LJ comm. So. It's tough writing fanfic just so that I can have something to read fanfic-wise. *sigh*

Out of curiosity, what's wrong with it?
