Long time no see!

It's been a while.

The days of summer have been flying by like race cars. And that's pretty darn fast, if you ask me. Time is flying, and in a large twist of irony, I actually feel busy this summer. As one of the two founding members of the WHNTDOSIP SG, I must say that I'm not doing a very good job at upholding the group's basic membership requirements. Oh, Drat.

At least this means I have more things to do this summer. I'm going to the gym on an almost regular basis and working at loosing the five pounds that somehow snuck onto me sometime in the past nine months. It helps that summer school tuition includes membership for the new rec center on campus, and the pool that comes with it is the cherry on a very interesting cake.

Working at the office is interesting, if not informative in the way the real world works, which is just like high school. Lesson One in the current workplace: When sending 8 1/2 by 11" envelopes (or something close in size), make the label horizontal, not vertical. The post office charges more for an envelope with a 90 degree change in label direction. Silly, isn't it?

The class I'm taking this session is Geography, a subject I've always been horrible at (I once mistook the alps for the andes).
I'm starting to see a trend in my college class selection: Calculus and Chemistry are also classes I was never good at to begin with. I guess I'm sacrificing my GPA in hopes of getting rid of my weaknesses. I'm not sure how well this strategy is going to turn out in the end, but I am learning a lot , which is more important to me anyway.

My newest hobby is gardening, so I've been spending a few hours every day working on daddy dearest's gardening plots that have become so ridden with weeds that one can't even see the brown dirt underneath the canopy of green that just overrules everything else. Today was productive, as I finished weeding most of the main plot and transplanted the pole beans, which are growing at an alarming rate. A few more hours and the entire plot will be completely devoid of the little rascals we call weeds, and I can start on the others.

The garden will soon contain all of the following, granted they all grow properly:
-Dill
-Green Onions
-Bell Pepper (Present from Mommy dearest's coworker)
-Cilantro (Just sprouted!)
-Chili
-Pole Beans
-Soybeans
-Rosemary? (unfortunately, this still hasn't sprouted)
-Chives
-Bok Choy

and...
-Lemon, Lime, Orange, and Tangerine Trees

I've included the things that were already planted. Points for future partial sustainability on my family's part.

Also, everybody is home now! Rejoice! And dance! Ole! It's the Obon season!

I'm currently 160 pages into Catch-22, and I'm finding it humorous now that I've gotten used to the thinking and writing style of the author. More on that later.
