I'm sitting at my (non-existent) roommate's desk, which is situated right next to the room heater and the window and has a view of the mountains, namely the flatirons. (Flat and strong as iron. It will be a popular boy's name by the year 2080 with proper exposure, I'm sure of it.) I'm doing my calculus homework, but my attention is grabbed by the dancing snowflakes that are languidly floating down to earth like they have all the time in the world. For some reason, watching those white speckles in the distance instills a sense of tranquility in my mind.
I'm getting a head start on christmas music this year. My winter playlist has 60 songs and is ready to rock and roll (or serenade). Tis' the season of hot chocolate! It's cold, but a good kind of cold.
A haiku translation (not done by me) to commence the start of a lovely winter, though it's still not winter quite yet:
Just being here,
I am here
and the snow falls.
win,
winter,
snow!
