Spontaneous combustion is supposed to be an urban myth, isn't it? I mean I've heard of it and I'm sure somewhere in the depths of the library there's a book on it. Or maybe there was a book on it, now, there probably isn't anymore ( Read more... )

..I don't think it is, this time. I mean, I don't quite know what the connection is yet, but a lot of weird stuff like this has been happening alongside the curses. For close to a month now. Curses don't last that long.

Well, there's the tower falling for one. And with the pets that have been going haywire? A lot of cultures believe that animals have more insight than humans. It's like they're running away from something. Those are just the obvious things.

Then there's the more subtle stuff, like Rosella's birthday plans having the word "death" written all over it in languages she's never even seen before. My brother's been on edge for weeks now, and I've been hearing things that shouldn't be there. Feeling things that should be there.

It just seems like something big is coming this way.

It just happened in my world. And part of it was less about the actual possibility of something happening and more about the fear.
