Going towards that hotel, knowing what I had heard, made it not something that I wanted to see. We were going to see the bodies of twenty-seven dead slayers and just coming back from watching Chola getting killed in Hong Kong, this was not something that I wanted to get used to seeing.
Fortunately, although there was nothing about this that you could dwell on as good fortune, the bodies had already been taken off of the street and sent by chopper towards London, where Giles would make sure that they were cleaned up and buried with respect. I would have wanted to see a viewing, but that wasn’t going to happen.
Xander hated Angel, which was also really obvious. Angel had brought the demons forth, but hadn’t asked us to come and he had brought the demons forth in an attempt to try to rid the world of a good chunk of evil. Xander either liked or extremely disliked people. I had learned that about him.
Besides having an obvious disdain for Angel, he seemed to look at Faith with a little bit of anger too. He had lost a lot of slayers and missed Willow. I got that, but he was reacting and not thinking, which was also an admirable and not so admirable quality that Xander owned.
Xander ran upstairs to see about Dawn after Buffy went out with this Spike vampire, who was good and somebody else that Xander had no love for and that Buffy had slept with. I couldn’t see getting down with the undead, but Angel was hot and a couple of the girls had mentioned that Spike was. Plus there was the super-powerful angle and maybe some nibbling. Okay, maybe it wasn’t a bad thing.
Speaking of powerful beings, Angel’s son was adorable with a capital A. He had an awesome personality and was so cute, I wanted to squeeze him, and I might have to get to that later. He loved his vampire father and in my book, to me, despite Xander’s objections…that made Angel seem like a good guy. Jada and Gunn left right after Xander ran upstairs which meant that I got to go hunt for more demons with Connor, which was delicious as far as I was concerned. Buffy and Faith weren’t doing anything, but they had already helped kill most of the demons and I wanted some action, and wanted to fight with Connor, on his side and maybe later, spar with him a little just me and him, with no demons around. That could lead to some beautiful places.
Right now, though, we were charging in the opposite direction as Jada and Gunn, and keeping up with Connor was a job in its own right.
“So, Connor, what’s with the rushing off? Don’t tell me that you can sense and smell like your father can.”
There was so much that I needed to learn about him, because while I wasn’t in love with him, the boy was gorgeous. The boy was going to be dealing with me nocturnally, and I mean in the bed, if he was up for it.
