Amelia wasn't used to small towns - at all. But ever since she'd left New Orleans, she'd had no choice but to drive through plenty of them. She'd resisted the hunger pangs that had begun a few hours before - she wasn't eager to

"If you need the day off, I wish you could give me more than a day's notice. Tomorrow's Thursday, and you know the square-dancers head over after their group finishes- so things pick up
after 9pm. It's allright, we should be able to manage, but do me a favor..Keep your eyes out for potential new waitresses! Ones that can cover you last minute!" He frowned, thinking for a moment how the next night would be.
He hated nagging his waitresses, and Arlene seemed to get alot of his commentary as of late. Better her, than Sookie getting him all flustered with worry. He let out a resigned sigh, and tried to let it go. Turning to the mirrow behind the bar, he happened to glance st the myriad of pictures that he'd put up at the bar. Some of them never failed to make him laugh, like the one of Sookie and Lafayette both hamming it up for the camera, BOTH wearing bright red lipstick! He laughed, picked up a bottle of Bacardi rum, and checked it's level. Looking back up, he saw Sookie in the mirror, and he turned around to hear what the order was. ~I know the girl wants rum and Coke, I could hear her..Hope Sookie I.D.'ed her, she looks young~
"Heya Sook..What can I make ya?"
He leaned over a bit to get a better look at the girl. Was she really young? She could be 18, she could be 28. Cute, but -definatley- not from around here. She looked like she came from up north, from New Orleans, at least.

She set her tray down and fixed and tightened her ponytail as she waited for Sam to make the drinks, glancing over at the woman again, "Seems like we been gettin' a lot of out-of-towners lately," she commented. "Have you been noticin' that?" She, of course, was not talking about Bill since he was now a resident of Bon Temps.

guest.Sam wasen't fond of strangers in his bar, he liked the tried and trustworthy crowd he'd come to know and like in the small town.
Even Andy Bellefleur wasen't so bad, hell at least Sam "got" him. New people brought questions. Questions he wasen't eager to give on many counts,
so he'd be polite but aloof with anyone whom he didn't know.
He let his mind wander to the fact it was getting very hot out in Bon Temps, what with the height of summer almost upon them.
When the weather got like this, all hot, humid and stuffy, he hated being in his trailer after work. He figured he'd shift and go out running,
heck maybe even hit the pond not too far off.
He snapped out of his daydream to comment to Sookie.
"Yeah, I wonder what's up with that?? I mean what ever could Bon Temps hold for these people? Well, I guess I shoulden't worry, they've seemingly
found this place and hey..It makes for more interesting talk when they leave, huh?"
He flashed a wry grin, wiping the bar down as he added, "Hey, get her name, at least, willya?"

She smiled brightly, "You're right about that. And more customers is always good for us, Sam." The more business, the better for Merlotte's. And the more tips for her, which was always a great thing.
She nodded to his request about getting the woman's name before trotting back over to her, drink in hand.
