Yes, Lorne -was- flustered. He wasen't sure if this news was nothing, or the beginnings of something big and BAD. He worried about his friends, he was worried about being under the employ of Wolfram & Hart, even -if- the perks for running the entertainment part of the company were nice. VERY nice perks. He noticed that it was changing some ways of his thinking, he was thinking a bit -more- about the company, and less for his friends.
~SHAME ON ME, i'm such an ass. I think working here is turning me into a real demon from hell, sometimes!~ He shook his head and took a deep breath. When -was- the last time he'd heard Wesley sing, even? It had been so long ago, like a another lifetime. He needed to actually be a better friend, and not let Wolfram & Hart's evil ways seduce him any more. He'd been partying with A-list celebs, painting the town red with behaviours that really spoke more to his increased drinking, than anything. He missed having Caritas, where he was happy. This was not happy for the green-skinned Pylean, no way, no how.
Lorne cracked his neck, trying to relax and not freak the others out. ~GOD, I could use a martini about now~

"Allright, Miss Burkle's office would be just fine. Since you're here, Spike- feel free to float past the wall and join. I think the more of us to bounce the ideas off, the better. Anyone BUT Harmony would be welcome about now, as you'll soon learn"

Walking into Fred's office, he gave Fred a real smile at the woman, but even a good actor like himself coulden't hide the worry in his brow. He waited for everone to settle, then held up the files.

"We were given the job in Entertainment for 2 new all-Vampire bands, both based in Louisiana. One in New Orleans, one in Shreveport, to insure and provide protection. From Slayers, but Buffy is listed as the main one, and Faith...Each band has 20 million dollars coverage, and more if needed. Apparently, this came from the Queen Of Louisiana, and a Vampire named Eric Northman, apparently the Sheriff of Area 5. Maybe it's just a Vampire in-joke, but that's kinda big money for 2 underground bands, even IF they're Undead."

Lorne let his borderline bad joke sit for a second, then kept going.

"I happened to hear Harmony sing last week, when I let her come with me to an afterparty on Sunset. Her head was overloaded with tons of things about both Eric Northman, The Queen of Louisiana, Buffy and she was giddy as a schoolgirl. As of that moment, things looked BAD- if you know what I mean. Maybe i'm overworked and totally paranoid, but i've got the heebie-jeebies about it all."

He looked around, his hand holding the files slightly shaking

FRED:

Fred’s forehead was in wrinkles as she tried to follow what Lorne was saying. She felt kind of bad for not being in the loop regarding the Queen of Louisiana and she felt terrible about not knowing anything at all about property being divided into areas and ruled by Sheriffs. Instead of asking questions she just shook her head and moved on.

“Angel knows all of this?” She tilted her head, looking up at Lorne.

She had learned over the last few years that Los Angeles was a busy hub of activity, but from what Lorne was telling them it sounded like Louisiana was pretty active, too. Vampires were everywhere. It was no wonder, then, that they would come out of the coffin, so to speak.

WESLEY:
Smiling at Fred, Wesley followed the rest to Fred's office. He ignored Spike's mutterings and sarcastic remarks, which was getting easier and easier to do. He couldn't help but wonder how the vampire would get along with Cordelia. Thinking about his old friend made him sad again. Having her in a coma after-- after-- something.

That was the confusing bit. Wesley couldn't *quite* seem to remember how Cordelia had gotten in her current state. All he new was that he missed his friend dearly. Even more so now that they were in this ordeal then ever before. Especially if there were things going which worried Lorne and made the green demon's face look constipated with worry.

"Eric Northman is the Queen of Louisiana?" Wesley asked confused, not really able to follow his demonic friend. What did this have to do with them. If some gay fellow wanted to be called the Queen of Louisiana then Wesley really couldn't be bothered by that, nor did he care. Surely Lorne, of all -- demons, wasn't that narrow minded.

Wait. What was that about Faith and Buffy? Although he could understand that vampires would want protection against Slayers, Wesley was also confused as to why they would be giving them as such. They had a clear dea-- alright, they had anything *but* a clear deal with Wolfram and Hart. They had a downright confusing deal with the firm if anyone were to ask Wesley.

"Alright, I still have no idea what you're on about, Lorne. I'm sorry but-- Should we know these people you're talking about? Other then Buffy and Faith that is. I mean, we're not going to provide them of such are we? They must not have heard that Wolfram and Hart is under new management right?"

"Like to see ya try," Spike muttered, and for a moment he wished he could actually do the floatin' thing like a ghost, if only so he could freak people out. But if there was one thing he noticed in this stupid buildin', with the stupid people who worked here, it was that they weren't freaked out so easily.

Signin' a contract to give away first born happily and freely probably was a part of that reason he reckoned. If were still really evil he'd so be in awe of that plan. Dru had loved babies, said they tasted like fairie's floatin' on the wind or somethin'. As it was, Spike's pesky soul made him wrinkle his none corporeal nose in digust and he was kinda glad the goody two shoes here had nullified those contracts.

Spike walked straight throught he wall into Fred's office and rolled his eyes at the smile on the ex-watcher's face as the man looked at Fred. Oh he was so, so gonna have to step in there sooner then later. Since he couldn't die from gagging and vomiting at the lovely dovey shite - on account of bein' already dead, twice - he had very little choice.

Time to concentrate on the green demon with the overly bright and flashy dress sense. Oh Angel must be cringin' everytime he saw Lorne, what with the poof's perchance for black. Though, Spike figured, they would probably understand each other perfectly well, since neither was capable of coherent or understandin' talk.

Spike felt like he'd been dumped half a book in his lap with the plot missin'. Least he wasn't the only one. Mister Clever didn't seem to grasp the urgency either.

"Wot?" Spike, too, wanted to know, looking from Fred to Lorne. "I never heard of no Queen Eric, which is really a stupid name if ya ask me. How's about some details, Lorne, so we all know the plot of this story eh? Cause I'm kinda thinking from your flutterin' its kinda bad yeah?" Vampires could knock on the door here for protection? Damn, he shoulda known that *years* sooner.

Taking a breath, the green demon looked at Wesley, then Fred, realizing that they really didn't know much about the new things that people were starting to learn about Vampires.

"I'd hope that if Angel knew, he'd tell us all, to get us up to speed. I've learned that apparently there are ways that many Vamps interact with each other- we never really knew about. I've done a bit of looking myself, and I guess the best way to put it is that Sherrif's are the area Vamp leaders, who have others under them. Kinda of like a Scout Troop Leader from hell.."

He opened the folder again, and added: "Then, it seems like each State has a King and a Queen. Now, by that reasoning, there should be super-vamps that head each continent, but I'm not really sure. Maybe Angel knows more. Then again, he's never mentioned a thing about this hirarchy before, so this might be all news to him."

He looked at Fred, his hands a bit in the air.

"If Angel knows, i'll be a bit surprised. He really does keep to himself. Plus, this sounds new to Spike as well. Maybe they didn't want to invite you 2 to the party, for whatever the reasons, since both of you are pretty infamous in the Vamp scene. It all makes me wonder if there's a new Hellmouth about to open, or what? It -HAS- been pretty boring in these parts lately, you know?"

Lorne was trying to let the other know the little bit he'd learned, and he still wasen't fully sure he was right about his hunches. He looked in the direction of Spike, and actually smiled. He had to stop and really listen to the guy's Cockney accent, but he always got a kick out of it.

"Wow, so you never had to report in to some local Big Bad Vamp? I guess another way to look at them are like mini-bosses in a video game. Vamps kiss the right ass, and work their way up the bloodsucker ladder. Kinda like Hollywood, but with less backstabbing."

He smirked at his joke, looking around the room. He was hoping to hear Angel's thoughts on this all, to find out more details, perhaps.

As a watcher, and therefore scholar of anything even remotely demonic this was news for Wesley. Vampire sheriffs? This was the first time he heard of anything of the kind. Nor did he ever hear of kings and queens among vampires. He was a bit miffed by this and made a mental note to look it up right away. In fact, what he wanted to was go and find anything about this as soon as possible.

Still, he needed to focus on Lorne since the man-- demon man? - seemed rather agitated. Wesley frowned, crossed his arms and tried to focus. But his mind, oh his mind was whirling about these new things he was hearing. Of course there had been a hierarchy among vampires, just look at the group Angel and Spike had been roaming around with.

This sort of hierarchy he had never heard about. Wesley glanced at Spike to see if the other vampire knew anything about this news. From the blank look on the man's face he'd have to say that was a no. The vampire even looked offended at the idea that he should report to any other vampire - though Wesley knew Spike had reported to Angelus and Darla at one point - or kiss any vampire ass.

"I suppose we should ask Angel about this?" Wesley pointed out, suddenly remembering that their leader had announced a sudden meeting in a few hours. "We could do that during the meeting I suppose," he mused.

"Fuck no," Spike all but snarled at the idea alone of kissing any vampire ass. "I was me own boss thanks so much. We travelled in groups back when the big forehead was still a big nasty forehead, but we each did what we fuckin' well wanted."

Which wasn't technically true, but he wasn't gonna enlighten anyone 'bout that. He doubted Angel would either. This whole news 'bout sheriffs and queens and kings was news to him. Maybe it was somethin' that only happened New Orleans? Cause that was a freaky place, no wonder he'd been keen to avoid it. What with the stupid voodoo magic mojo stuff.

"So what you're sayin' is that vampires are out of the coffin', free to roam 'round and stuff and people know about them? Everywhere all over the world or what?" Well. Fuck. That kinda really did take away the mystic mystery that he goin' for him. And now that he was a ghost it was kinda pointless anyway.

Fuck. Why couldn't he ever catch a break?

"Sounds like a good idea to me," Spike shrugged, even though no one had or would ask him for his opinion. "See what our big bad leader has to say about this, if anythin' at all." He snorted at the idea at all, before rollin' his eyes and ghostin' away. He was gonna have to look into this himself, cause when he was back to bein' a real life dead boy again?

Oh the possibilities were endless!
