Who: Cordelia for Angel & Anyone in his office
Where: Wolfram & Hart; Hospital Wing
When: Afternoon
Status: Incomplete
Thousands of images flashed through her mind. She had been absent from the world for so long, her mind lost to dreams. But, she knew. She knew what had happened when that horrible demon took the wheel on her body. It made her do horrible things, things she's not sure she can ever repent for. She was sure to be stuck in this bed forever, until her body eventually gave out from the strain of her mind. But, she couldn't go out like this. No, Cordelia Chase always put up a fight.
Days and weeks passed and new images flooded her mind, though she couldn't seem to escape them. Instead, she lay trapped in this hospital room, unable to go back to reality, to help her friends, who she knew were in trouble. Something bad was happening. She only had the gist, but she knew they needed help.
Her faraway mind pleaded with the Powers or anyone to bring her back to her body, to help wake her up. At first, she heard only refusals; it's not time yet or you're not ready. But, she was ready. She was damn well ready to get back to the Hyperion and help her friends fight back against whatever unspeakable evil that was inevitably happening.
Finally, an image of Angel sitting at a desk in an unfamiliar room flooded into her mind, causing her to gasp for fresh air. And then she realized, she was breathing. She could feel the air going in and out of her lungs. And she could feel her body. Her body was still hers; it was still alive. With more force than she realized she needed, her eyelids fluttered open to see the plain ceiling tiles of a hospital room. Soon, she felt cords and tubes around her body, tapped into veins and vessels. A consistent beeping noise played in the room, which was a relief to know her heart seemed fine.
Her muscles were severely weakened after laying still in a hospital bed for--well, she had no idea how long--so it took a lot of effort to sit up even slightly. She reached over with thinner arms (and was suddenly glad she lost all that pregnancy weight) to press the button for assistance. A nurse came rushing in to the room in confusion and utter shock, "Miss Chase! You-you're awake!"
Cordelia arched an eyebrow at her or tried to; she wasn't sure if she had enough strength to make the expression. Running a hand through her surprisingly clean and conditioned hair, she also noticed how manicured her fingernails were. Wow, this must be an expensive hospital, one she hoped she wasn't paying for.
"I-I'll notify Mr. Angel right away," the nurse fumbled as she checked Cordelia's vitals.
"Mr. Angel?" she blurted out in general confusion, wondering if Angel had given the hospital a funny name like when they had brought Connor in for a check-up. Oh god, Connor. She wondered how he was doing, but she was afraid of the answer. But, she really did hope that all of her friends had fared better than her, especially after she unintentionally unleashed a crazy world-dominating demon upon the populous. Woops. But, she had a feeling that demon had been vanquished. The world felt normal. Or at least she thought it did.
She heard the nurse on the phone, "Mr. Angel? She's awake. M-miss Chase is awake!"
