[Naomi makes no attempt to conceal her slight irritation with his private message. After all, it's already late and she's been waiting for his arrival for some time now.

The dull, blank background behind her should be easily recognizable as the Inspector new's home, the place he had only just moved his things into today.]

[Javert is already moving out in the wintry wonderland. She may recognize the skyline of the Residential District looming behind him. He is clearly very distracted when he responds. He is grimacing with profound preoccupation.]

[There's a brief murmur of 'ridiculous' under the woman's breath as her eyes roll back in annoyance.

She finally huffs,] Fine.

[And with that, she stands from his chair and moves to put away everything she had out and prepared for the impromptu celebration she had planned. But be prepared, Inspector. Naomi may be willing to drop the subject for the time being, but there will be hell to pay when the woman spies just how worn out Javert is tomorrow.]

[Javert isn't blind to what Naomi wanted, after glimpsing just where Naomi had been keeping herself for the past several hours, he surmises. He fixes an impatient stare on her. He says tersely,]

You understood that my schedule is unpredictable when you accepted me. Before and after a holiday it is worse. As much as I might appreciate your efforts, save it for when I can spare the time.

[While her irritation with the situation has been very mild till this point, a flash of real anger flickers across the woman's already tense expression. It dies down, however, even more quickly than it had risen up, her rage shoved down forcefully as her lips press into a line.

After all, no matter what Javert may have thought, the doctor's reasons for becoming so upset are anything but selfish. Naomi can deal with the man canceling their plans to instead turn his attention on work. She has casually brushed away all annoyance she`s felt when it came to waiting for him to show up for dinner on days when he'd been forced to stay late. And even more against her character, she hadn't spoken a word when his attention, which is very consistently off who knows where, was not being thrown and lavished on her.
