(no subject)
Ok, so here I am... fresh, renewed, and ready to roll..
Something really exciting has happened to me, and I am so excited and awed by it that I don't really know what to think about it.... I'm just in shock. For fun, I decided to send out a few headshots and resumes for some of the professional theatre companies here in Atlanta. BTW, there are SO many!! Just to see if I could get a nibble, and atleast try to find some suitable companies to go see or volunteer with. So today I'm at work and this strange number calls my phone. I let it ring. Much to my suprise at lunch I check my voicemail to hear the voice of a charming man from the UK offering me an audition for his company outside of Atlanta. The name of the show is Glory Road. It's a musical, and it's an original fresh off the New York circuit. They're looking for members for the original cast, and it's to be performed for 8 weeks in March. (Possible extension if show does well) The show is about a simple country family that has a televised ministry that is being taken over by a crazy modern televangelist. It's like Rock opera meets/smoke on the mountain. It's pretty cool, and the part I'm going for it pretty awesome. Long story short, the producer called, requested to meet with me, the director, and the other producer.. My audition is September 23rd at 3:45 PM. Private. I'm kinda nervous, but mostly just flattered. Flattered that out of the hundreds of acting resumes floating around the circuit in Atlanta mine got plucked and offered a private audition for a leading role, which is paid, with a professional theatre. Oh oh oh.. and plus, next year.. they're doing CHICAGO. Roxy Hart... here I come. How fucking cool is that?
