[The comm is clicked on, though it was probably an accident, given that the voices transmitted don't seem to be that close to it for it to be intentional.]
C'est un bébé! Pourquoi...? C'est impossible, non?!
Would it be too much trouble for you to freak out in a language I can understand? Please?
Ah... the b-baby! Why it here? It look like--- like moi

But it's here, and it's adorable, and it's apparently theirs. So they need to take care of it.
Shilo smiles down at the child, murmuring something in gibberish baby-talk to it before looking up at Chrissie.]
This isn't really that bad, is it?

Well, suffice it to say, Christine is going to be wondering just how mysteriously God moves for a while.
In the meantime, the child really is adorable, and it needs their love.]
No, it not so bad. Just... shocking. Still, we manage.
[She strokes the baby's beautiful black curls a little, and then turns her attention to the basket that turned up with her. Oh, good, they aren't completely without the means to look after the child, but there's not enough! Well, not unless the babies aren't staying for more than a day or so. At least there's a little food, and - thank goodness - clean cloths, although Christine's stomach turns at the thought of that particular duty.]

[She goes to sit on the edge of the bed, still holding the child close. God, it's adorable.]
Without checking, I'd guess she's a girl ... I mean, she doesn't look like a boy.
[...and then it occurs to her that she's mothering a child with someone she doesn't even know the name of...]
I'm Shilo, by the way.

Yes, you right. I think she girl too. She so pretty!
[Hmm, a name, a name...]
...Marguerite, maybe? Meg as short.
[She doesn't often say so, but Christine really, really misses her best friend from the Populaire. And if she'll never see her again... maybe this can be a way of remembering her.
...Dear God, she's thinking that and she doesn't even know how long they'll have the child for. Oh well.]
Oh, and I Christine. It nice meet you.

... Mag Meg.
[Shilo giggles a bit to herself as she twists a curl of the baby's hair around her finger. She looks like Mag even in appearance, and God, she misses her godmother that she barely knew as a person but knew very well as an idol.]
Mag was someone who was really special to me back home, so.

[A wonderful name for a wonderful baby. Why, she hasn't even cried yet! She's such a good child.]
I understand. Meg mon ami, my best friend at home.
[Already Christine is kind of hoping they get these children to keep. Magdalene is so beautiful... and she needs to know how to be a mother so she doesn't do anything wrong if - no, when - she bears Erol's children.]

[Shilo smiles down at the child. She's surprisingly well behaved, and she's grateful.]
Mag was ... a really famous singer who also happened to be a godmother.
[Pause.]
You wanna hold her?
Reply
[She holds her arms out to take Magdalene, smiling. She's such a sweetheart!]
I think I like her then. I sing too. It be nice to have another singer here.
