This morning was my world history exam, the second of three for the semester. The test taking experience felt pretty good. I knew all of the seven identification questions, where we had to choose four out of the seven to define. Then, there was the essay question. I chose to write about the industrial revolution in Britain in the 1800s. That essay felt pretty good, too, but I made one error. I forgot about a point I wanted to make so I squeezed it in a little lamely. I'll get points off for that, but hey, at least I mentioned the British textile industry. :)
In other school news, my presentation on Marcel Duchamp has been moved up to Tuesday, the 9th. ACK! As of right now, I don't think I can get it done. Duchamp is a complex artist to discuss, and he's generated an entire cottage industry in art criticism. Still, I'll do my best. That's all I can do.
This afternoon, B and I did some cleaning in the garage. I had a trashbag full of empty pill bottles. I must have been saving them for some unremembered art project, because I can't be that much of a hoarder, can I? I also had empty water bottles for another only half-remembered sculpture or maybe it was an installation piece? Wow. At least four boxes of fabric, too. It wasn't anything interesting like medieval period fabric or quilting fabric, but I'm going to see if
build_my_world or JH's wife N would be interested in it, anyway. They can always use it for making muslins before the completed garment. The next garage project will be a major sort of the comic books. Now I can walk into the garage easier so that sort will be easier to do.
The weather here has been abominable. The highs have been in the 90s (F). Summer finally arrived three months late, and she is overdoing her job. However, it is predicted that it will turn cold again next week. I hope so! It's about time the weather started acting congruent to the time of year. (Look at me, I'm complaining about all this lovely sunshine! Two weeks ago, when it was rainy, I was longing for sun!)
Tomorrow is school again. I'm studying World War I and Cubism at the same time. Considering Cubism started on the eve of World War I, it seems appropriate. So happy days, y'all!
