Today I dove out of a perfectly comfortable bed at 1 PM and headed to Brockton, only to find out that my church has betrayed me. Other than that, things are pretty normal around here...my parents are upstairs drinking beers, my sister is sleeping in the livingroom, and my brother is down cellar hiding from the people that want to kill him. I haven't seen my dog anywhere, though I can smell it. The city seems quiet tonight but I know somewhere out yonder there are Cape Verdeans at war.

The highlight of my night had to be the Chinese food I ate with my parents at the Maui; there's nothing like a good stomach-fuck. Come to think of it, I did have a milestone moment as well - I was refused (for the first time) the purchase of beer at a liquor store because my driver's license was too worn out to scan. Of all places to be refused, it had to be the sketchy Campello area of Brockton, months after my 21st birthday. Life is ironic. Well, it's time for me to hit the hay and prepare for tomorrow's organ-playing, selling clothes, studying for finals, and whatever else that might choose to molest me.
