i love chicago! we went there for a soci conference last weekend, lisa and i did that is. it was amazing. all the people were so nice and friendly. the L is great and not nearly as scary as i thought it would be. my presentation went really well too, and tracy ore (apparently she is really well known queer theorist) said that my work was really important and later on i went to talk to her in the hotel lobby and she said she wished she had thought to do something like i did. i'm not worried about presenting at muskingum at all anymore.
lisa and i hung out with steph and her mom for a lot of the conference. i love steph's mom. then on saturday we all kind of parted ways and did our own thing in chicago. lisa and i went to Boys Town (the gay district) and walked around, went to shops, i bought the best pair of green pants ever! then we met up with steph and her mom for dinner at the Chicago Diner. it was the most vegan-tastic meal i have ever had. i had vegan ranch dressing. VEGAN RANCH DRESSING!! it was amazing. this was the best trip i have ever taken. it was relaxing, exciting, fun, and adventurous. an all around great time.
oh and the beds in the hotel were liking sleeping on clouds, or sheep, or dead baby ducks (i think that is what they were actually made out of). not vegan but oh so comfy.
