I certainly agree with a lot of what you say, expecially about the school being really small and almost connectionless. But I disagree on the part about SJC not allowing students to put on a good concert. Let me explain why.
When I took over as President of Campus Activities last year, I made it a goal to exercize the talent of students here much more than the school has in the past. That is one of the reasons for doing the open mic night on Saturday. I hope that by putting this on, we will get a greater amount of these students that want to get out their talent, and from there we can continue to build. There are some other issues at hand here that I cant mention on LJ, but for the sake of concerts and things of the like, please talk to me sometime, and I will explain some other stuff. But I am trying to work with the right people to do something like that this year, dont worry.
As for meeting people, we have a veey diverse freshman class, and lot of interesting people on the Campus Activiies Board as well. We meet every monday night at 8pm in the Alfond Center Alumni Lounge - if youre not busy, I encourage you to become a part - we could really use someone with your talent on the board bud - Think about it =)
