Meeting with the surgeon went well. He answered my giant list of questions, and detailed the surgery. She'll have dye injected into her hip socket to see if there is anything blocking the hip, and then proceed with the placement. She'll be casted under anesthesia and then taken to have an MRI.

There's about a 50/50 chance she'll be in the hospital more than one night. I'm not sure how I feel about that - I'd love to have her home, but I wonder if we might not be better off with the care for an extra night. Anyway, I guess that will work itself out.

I do like this guy, but I noticed he was a little vague with a few things. I know he doesn't want to commit, and I have done enough reading to know that sometimes this procedure doesn't work. I think he probably doesn't wnat to scare me with the possibility of future, more invasive procedures, and I'm willing to let that come to us. He still gives this a 90% chance of working. Pretty good odds.

Tomorrow will be a rough day - I have to wake her up early to give her a bottle and breakfast, and then she can't have anything until after the echo cardiogram. I'm going to get her out of the house for the morning so she'll be distracted, so I probably won't check in until tommorrow afternoon.
