The sun is setting at the bay. The water sparkles and the sand is dazzling. The humid air is making a gentle hit at her grinning face. Her hair is dancing along with the waves easing the heat of summer. Her summer dress which is camouflaging at the color of the setting sun is flying fluidly;
She held at the hat that was about to fly. Her eyes reflected contentment and pure bliss.
“Kiddo” The guy with a tall frame approached. His eyes were covered by dark rimmed eye-glasses and his wavy hair dripped from wetness. He approached her and dripped his arms on her thin waist and gave her a back hug.
She hit him jokingly but as she looks at his eyes, they reflected the look of love. She was hindering herself to smile in pure contentment but she tried to hide it.
Instead, she rolled her eyes and asked “What do you want?”
He giggled “I was just accompanying you here, you seem so lonely.” He mocked.
She was about to retort back but they heard her stomach grumble. They both laughed at the cute incident.
They were about to converse again when suddenly “ Hey you two! Come here! The food’s getting cooler and we are all hungry! If not we would finish this all without the two of you” She yelled.
“Yes Charchi!” They shouted in unison and looked at each other. The laughed and hugged each other again not minding the loud noises coming from the nearby gazebo.
“Yah! Let them! Biye nepang duncgs!” One of her friends say.
“Faith! Watch your tongue!” Pinky said.
The couple laughed and walks towards them; their smiling face reflected the pure bliss that they are all feel right now.
“Are you done feeling lovey dovey?” Laira said and everyone laughed and the couple blushed.

Gaea’s P.O.V
I woke up feeling the throbbing pain in my head. Ugh remind me not to over sleep again. I tried to fix my bed when my eyes suddenly saw the family picture inside my room. It was taken back in my elementary days; me, Ayn and kuya was smiling goofily while being sandwich in between my mom and dad. Mom was smling while her arms were snaked in my waist.
My life is purely a roller coaster which is not really faithful to me. Yeah academics was okay, I literally jumbled my studies, boyfriend, social life and my family.
Yeah, my family; well I guess it goes with the grains. Everyone who is coming to our house can feel the emptiness within. Yeah we are like a good family, my mom is a nurse, my dad is a teacher, my kuya is a nurse and my younger sibling is a good architecture student.
Yeah right.
Sometime I just want to mentally breakdown and stop things but I guess I should just move one and accept that things are not the same as it used to be.
But sometimes, I just miss my mom. No scratch that not sometimes, but always, badly. I miss her lingering touches that can make my worried heart be at ease. It hurts not seeing her but I am happy that everyone has been generous to try to fill up the void that she was making in my heart. I should just settle with the constant calls she’s giving me. I love my mom. I really do. I hope she hears it from my shouting heart to her beating one.
Well so much for the dramas that I have in my life. I guess I should just stay with the positive things that God has been giving me, like my friends and Mark. I rolled my eyes. Yeah Mark, he is not my ideal type yes, well supposed to be he is just a friend but yeah the ever corny love moves in mysterious ways, yeah we are together for like 9 months. I rolled my eyes and started going down the stairs, obviously I’m going to make lunch or brunch or whatever. I sighed.
He’s been totally understanding in our situation. Well I had my OJT and then some dilemmas ahead of me but then again I can still hear him smiling and laughing and comforting me in this times that I needed him the most. Yeah, he is sorta like a mommy chicken trying to make her chick comfortable. Although at times I feel that he is a childish kind of guy, I can tell he’s also been through hell, done what I am suppose to do and now he is becoming the person he wants to be.
Well he deserve all the generosity life has to offer. I smiled while looking at my freshly made coffee. Just thinking of him made me smile. Yuck Gaea. I started fixing a decent meal. I guess I am alone for today. Ayn is nowhere to be found while Papa and Kuya are at work as usual.
It’s almost time for our senior year in college and hopefully with the grace of God, I would graduate as a Suma Cum Laude, for my family and him. I just wish everything would go according to plan.
Well Mark is in Manila and he would be there for the next 6 months. I wish he would be here atleast on my birthday or our monthsary or should I go visit him? I raised a finger and laughed That would be cheap of me.
As I was staring at my phone. I smiled one text from him and the other is a viber notification coming from mom. I opened her message and says she misses me and she really loves us. I typed a reply for her. I love you too mom, try not to be busier or you”ll get sick. The other one was from Mark, asking me for a date tomorrow, he would go home. I smiled. Sure, what time?
The day passed so quickly. Well I was about to approach dad and ask him for permission when he started at me blankly “You know your responsibility, make sure to go home early.” He said and smiled.
My phone beeped Looking forward for tomorrow.
Yeah, same here, let’s just watch a movie and eat? I replied.
Sure. See you. I love you. He retorted.
Yeah. Love you too. I said while smiling.
“Someone is in a good mood.” Ayn smiled and I gave her a happy smile.
“Of course we’ll meet tomorrow batman” I said
“Haha” she said and went upstairs.
Morning came and I can feel anxiety creeping up. We haven’t seen each other for more than two weeks. Well oh my, I wish he would be here, been dying to see him. Then just like a genie granting my wish, someone knocked on our door and showed him.
He smiled.
I smiled back.
We held hands and went directly to Marquee. We watched a movie and I don’t even know what was showing, profanities might someone say but we were busy kissing each other that we didn’t know that the movie started.
I am not like the others who would usually go perverted with my boyfriend but I am not an ice cold lady that would be numb about our need as lovers.
He looked at me breathlessly, eyes reflecting the love we had. As I looked at Engr. Mark , I can see yeah despite the roller coasters I can find sanctuary in his arms.

Everyone was slumped in the shades of the gazebo while looking at the dancing waves. Charissa, Pinky, Tom, Vinnie and Rebecca are playing with cards while Laira, Faith and Sohee are busy surfing the net and posting pictures of the things done today. Gaea, Mark, Kyle, Angeli and Kevin are busy preparing for the food.
While everyone was doing their own things somebody knocked onto the door. Everyone was so shocked and started cleaning their acts. Laira, Faith and Sohee started cleaning their laptops and Charissa immediately cleaned the cards and pretended to do something much interesting. Gaea, Mark,
Kyle, Kevin and Angeli laughed their asses off. Kyle opened the door and saw Tito Henry and Tita Emy, Charissa’s Parents.
“Congratulations to your graduations you guys, you’ve been fruitful and good.” Tito Henry said while raising the plastic filled with food and beer
Everyone laughed and thank the couple.
“At least someone may watch over Faith when she gets drunk” Gaea snickered.
“Funny biyatch,” Faith replied and everyone started preparing for their campfire tonight.

Gaea’s P.O.V
I really want to throw my and phone. Yeah I know that I am not the usual paranoid girlfriend but duh! E is not texting me for how many days and he was not answering my phone calls. What kind of a girlfriend am I if I wouldn’t be able to know what is happening to him. Really? He sucks and I don’t know why.
“Ask his relatives, maybe he was sick.” Angeli suggested.
“Why not go to him and ask him?” Faith said. I rolled my eyes.
Everyone’s been supportive to me. I love these girls. They really stick to me through thick and thin.
“Why not wait for him and be patient, maybe there is a reason for all of these.” Rebecca said.
“Yeah she’s right or better yet you ask his mom, maybe she knows.” Charissa seconded.
I nodded thinking of what would my plans be. Yeah maybe I should just go and ask his mother about it.
I was on my way to their house when suddenly I saw him with someone else; an all familiar girl who I would presume to be his ex girlfriend. She has a good posture, a beautiful set of boobs and a butt for the matter. What is she doing here? Yes I admit my blood is boiling but must not assume and jump into stupid conclusions. I raised my head and headed towards them.
They were talking animatedly when suddenly I barged in “Good evening, excuse me, sorry to intrude” I said staring at their shocked faces.
Mark was the first one to speak “What are you doing here?” He asked while looking at me; it was like the deer was beat by red lights.
“You were not answering my messages and my calls so I assumed that something happened and indeed there was something that happened.” I said seriously and flatly. I may be looking oh so composed but inside of me; I am hurting. I want to scream and be mad. But I am an educate person.
“Let me explain.” He said and I nodded. “I needed to ask her something important and I was not able to text you because my brother broke my phone and now I can’t here phone calls.” He said in haste. My mind was battling between Yah! Don’t listen he is a liar! And the other one was there are alibis and he might be true.
I nodded “I have no choice but to believe.” I said to him coldly.
He hugged me “Please believe me.” He said begging.
I nodded and looked at him. I stared at him with cold eyes. I looked at the people around me and they were looking at me helplessly.
Tonight I want to scream and not go home. I don’t want to go home. I am so lose, I stared at my phone and texted my girls. I need to be with them.
“Dears, punta tayo kina Rebecca? Overnight? Hahaha J” I texted them.
Faith, Chi, Reb and Pinks immediately responded and we all gathered there. At first we were so happy and everyone was singing and watching scary movies.
It’s past midnight and everyone was drinking their coffee. T was as if the spirit of seriousness was there. We were looking at each other, silently speaking the need for assurance that they are still there for me.
“Spill it, what’s the matter?” Faith asked. Nakakapangiwi talaga ng mukha nag luka-lukang to.
Everyone was staring at me and waiting for me. I put my coffee down and started telling the story. As expected everyone had different facial expression. Faith was furious but surprisingly calm. Chi, Pinky and Reb are also calm and sympathetic.
At that night, I felt comforted. I pour my heart out. I planned not to cry but as I was telling them, Faith suddenly burst and started crying. I asked her what the matter is but she started muttering “I am crying for you” she said and I had to smile. I love these girls.
Maybe I just have to move on. Or give him another chance. I don’t know, it depends on him but one thing’s for sure, I still love him.

Everyone was playing out in the beach. The sun has set and the starts are about to peek. The moon is shinning out so bright and the waves are much calmer now. It was the perfect timing for a ghost story. Everyone gathered around.
Gaea scanned the whole area but to her surprise Faith and Pinks is not there. What could possibly go wrong?
“Maybe this is a wrong idea. We might get caught.” Pinks hiss.
“Shut up! No one will know.” Faith said and started to go and look around. “Hurry up before someone would be suspecting us.”
Unknown to the two occupants of the room Gaea heard the commotion but she chose to ignore it thinking that they are planning for a prank that they are up to.

Mark’s P.O.V
“Is everyone ready?” I asked Rebecca nervously
“Hell ya! You’ve been asking that for almost twenty times!” She shouted
I cringed Yeah, I am just nervous as hell, well I am not always doing things like this. Dang! How can I tell her about that. I am so nervous will Gaea accept this? Will she get mad?
“Come on idiot! She’s coming!” Faith shouted. This is it; win or lose I still love her.

Everyone was so nervous about how will Gaea react on their surprise. They are all lounging carefully at the veranda of the house. They were telling her about an urban legend of a white lady that slowly appears when midnight comes.
Everyone was intoxicated by Rebecca’s story when suddenly Faith crack a dare.
“Gaea, why don’t you try and figure out what happens during midnight at the seashore” he asked with a smirk.
Knowing that everyone was joining forces to make her feel afraid she agreed. She saw them preparing for the ghost lady so she was confident enough that it was just a joke. She readily agreed and went to the seashore. She brought her watch and hand phone.
“Hey guys, I am here at the seashore.” She said readying her expression.
The wind blows so wild and cold that she started to shiver. She wants them to appear as a ghost to finish this hideous plan that they are arranging.
As she looks at her clock she sees that midnight is about to strike.

Gaea’s P.O.V
Too much of everything makes a mess out of me! Shit! Everything is a mess and my dear old good dears are not okay too goof around today, it makes me miss his presence. After the incident, it was much more infuriating knowing that he became more aloof than the usual.
I hissed. As I walk at our subdivision. Today did a very cooperative day know that Papa didn’t want to take me home and dears are very secretive whole day? It pisses me off. I was about to retaliate when I saw our house with no lights on.
Weird, I was informed that everyone is at home. Did they immediately go?
As I enter the gate, lights suddenly turned on and music started to sing. Gee, I hate this what is happening? Did I spoil the surprise? Dang it’s me Gaea not someone else! Maybe Kuya had a surprise to his girlfriend,
When I opened the door, I saw Mark wearing an apron while staring at me. “Happy Anniversary Baby” he said and I started at him blankly. I was surprise that my moth left hanging.
“I knew that you didn’t like big things but I was the romantic idiot who wanted to make this big so I asked everyone’s help.” He stopped and started at
me. “You guys, come on, she’s here.” He signaled and then to my surprise everyone was there including Papa and they were grinning.
“Well we are not in the position to stay here so bye!” Papa said and they all went upstairs.
He then let me sit and started giving me the food he prepared. O gee, he cooked pasta, pork and a dessert. There was even a “Happy Anniversary “ at the desert! Oh my gee.
“The girl that you saw was my ex, she was there because I asked her to give back the pasta recipe that my mom let her barrow. I wasn’t communicating to you because I was so afraid to spoil to whole thing because I am a blabber mouth. I wanted to kinda surprise you” he said while scratching his nape and looking at me cheekily. “I figured you hate biggy ting so I asked everyone to participate. Hope you’re not mad.”
“How did you..” I asked still in utter shock.
“You’re asking what did they do? Well I just arrive this afternoon and they started everything so..” he said
“You were.. I was..” I can’t continue everything I wanted to say. “Thank you baby, I love you.” I said and hugged him.
It was both reliving and very irritating. So tha’s why everyone was not there for me today. It was our anniversary and I didn’t remember. I am so bad! But I felt relive hearing him say this things and explain everything.
“Thank you.” I said
“Welcome, I love you.” He said
Today is the best day of my entire love life. Thank you Mark. You’ve been good. I will always love you.

She saw the figure walking towards her. It was a body that is covered by a blanket. Gaea laughed “Are you kidding me?” She said and approached the figure.
“Is this all that you can manage to do? Faith, I know it’s you” She giggled. As she reached for the blanket to reveal her friend. She had the greatest shock of her life.
Standing in front of her was a very beautiful wrinkled lady that she has grown fond of. She had a very curly hair and a beautiful smile. She stared at her and said “I’m back baby”
Gaea cried and hugged the figure “Welcome back mom!”
