First of all, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Second of all, browsing me on AO3 will lead you to Yuletide fic I have written for Lamb and other Tortall books (though not the Trickster series, because I feel totally inadequate writing for them), and a little Alexander piece I dashed off one night. These aren't necessarily the thing I would want to see most in this fandom, or whatever, but might give you some sort of deep psychological insight into my brain. ;)
Request Fandom1: Moore, Christopher - Lamb
Biff, Josh
**If you get stuck on one of my requests and chose to switch to this one, it is doable. It is only one book and, speaking for myself, it'll pull you in. On the other hand, I'll warn you right now that this book is hilariously heretical, as Biff is the childhood best friend of Jesus Christ, who goes by Josh in this series. So if you think that reading it will offend you at all, then please don't push yourself into reading it.**
Anyway, I demand BIFF! Really, I'll take Biff at any time, but at the moment, I would particularly like to see him at some point during his stay with Balthazar and the girls. A glimpse of his lessons, him joking around with Joshua, one of his crazy theories, the whole thing with the door that can't be opened, etc.
That said, pron of any form with Biff and any number of the Balthazar girls (or Maggie, or anyone else you want) would be lovely (which isn't to say I wouldn't mind slash, if that's where you want to go, because I'd totally be down with that). Any combination, any pretense, almost any kink… heck, it could even be one of his dreams from the time he spent with the monks and then we can throw in crazy physically impossible kinks like flying and stuff!
And if you aren't feeling the pron bug or the Balthazar bug, anything with Biff and Josh having adventures or deep meaningful (relatively) talks or anything from the end of their lives, or anything post-death in Heaven/Hell/Limbo or whatever strikes your fancy. Really, I am so starved for this book that I will take anything.
Also, I'm assuming that anyone who volunteered to write for Lamb doesn't have a problem with heresy, so any attempts to capture Biff's voice and mindset in the storytelling would be awesome. Liberal misquoting of the bible and new inventions would be fabulous. ;) (But really, when you phrase it like that, does it remind anyone else of Shawn from Psych? "I've heard it both ways." Come on, tell me that wouldn't be a hilarious crossover.)
Request Fandom2: Alexander (2004)
Hephaistion, Alexander the Great
**If you get stuck on one of my other requests and want to switch to this fandom, it is theoretically only a movie-length long. However, it is one of those canons that are soaked in historical facts and stuff, and I always find myself doing lots of research for those ones. That said, I don't require any research be done on my behalf, so if that's not what your muse is saying, then that's great! Go for it!**
On to the request. Basically, in this movie, I absolutely adore Hephaistion. (This may also have something to do with him being Jared Leto, but not entirely). I love how unconditionally devoted he is to Alexander, I love how bashful he seems at times, and then how angry he gets on Alexander's behalf at Claudius's wedding. I love how he provides a caring, non-manipulative presence in Alexander's life, to counter the effects of his mother. It kills me when Hephaistion dies, but I love how Alexander purposely drinks from his poisoned water so that he can die of the same thing and join his friend in death. I love how, right from the get go, in the opening narration, even, the movie creators lay hints that Hephaistion and Alexander might be more than just friends. I also love how, in historical movies like this one, the boys always wear eyeliner, but that's probably not relevant. ;)
So anyway, I really want me some Hephaistion fic, and I can't imagine how you could have that without Alexander, so hence the request for both boys. They can do anything together, at any point in their life, and I'll be happy, but here are some ideas if you're fresh out: tormenting their teachers in school, first tentative (or not so tentative) explorations of each other, their first fight, the aftermath of Claudius's wedding, the aftermath of the crowning, Hephaistion privately questioning Alexander about his crazy ideas (because he'd never question him in public), celebrating the capture of Babylon, them in a cozy domestic scene somewhere in Asia, The aftermath of Alexander's wedding, reactions to that last battle where both of them get hurt and the horsie dies, some extended part of the death scenes, an AU where either/both didn't die, the after life for them, them reborn in modern times (if done really well), etc.
As it is pretty well canonical, I don't mind whumping on these boys or depressing angsty stuff. That said, I'd be just as happy with something sweet and fluffy, or sardonic and witty, or wonderfully and historically detailed, or whatever.
Request Fandom3: Tamora Pierce - Tortall series
Alianne of Pirates Swoop, Kyprioth , Nawat Crow, Dovasary Balitang
I love the Trickster series best of all the Tortall Books. Anything based around these characters, either before, during, or after the books would be great! Aly being sneaky, Dove as queen, Kyprioth making another bet with Aly and Nawat, or whatever else you can think of! (Also, I put my four favorites, but please don't feel that you have to include all four of them, or that someone else from the books can't come out to play as well)
**Again, if you get stuck and want to read these, Aly and the others only appear in the two Trickster's books: Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen. (Alright, Aly makes a brief cameo in Diane's first book, but she's, like, two!) It is entirely possible to write about these four characters without having read the other three Tortall quartets, and if you wrote a story set in/before Choice, then you would only have to read one of them. Of course, I dare you to read Choice and then not to read Queen to find out how it all turns out, but if you’re seriously pressed for time, that can wait until after Yuletide. :D **
I love Aly's love of life and the pleasure she gets from doing spy things. Her depth of knowledge and sneaky ways are very impressive. Her way of living with one finger stuck in everyone else's business while seeming to be nowhere near them is great as well. In Choice, the way she moves between the family, the conspirators, and her day job with the goats and crows and Kyprioth is fascinating. In Queen, the way she knows what everyone is doing, including her fellows, by way of the darkings is fabulous. The way she moves in the shadows for so long and then all of a sudden there is a huge result (a la Topabaw) is fascinating. And her personality in general I just adore.
Kyprioth is fascinating, especially in the few scenes where Aly sees the chasm between his elder statesman persona and the ruthless god who uses mortals for his own gains. Not that I see him as a villain, but simply as a very complex character. His love for his isles, and for their native people (in general, but occasionally in specific, as with Ochobu) is wonderful, and the many intricacies of his relationships with his siblings are fascinating. I also love how he has human flaws, like the way he jumps to conclusions and allows anger to overtake his judgment when Sarai leaves.
I love how calculating Dove is; she thinks before she speaks and she always wants to learn more about everything. The loyalty/friendship/potentially love between her and Aly is fabulous to watch as it develops. I also love the differences between her and Sarai, and how the Raka have to get used to her. I think Nawat is adorable and his love of tricks and teasing is a good match for Aly. Plus, it was so fun to see him grow up throughout the books. I love when he brings her sparklies, or when he learns to tease.
I would love anything set during or after the books. Gen, Aly/Dove, Aly/Nawat, Dove/Aly/Nawat, even Aly/Kyprioth or Aly/Nawat/Kyprioth if it pleases you (I truly have no preference among all those options). Any scenes from within the rebellion, Dove and Aly talking late at night, Aly and Nawat raising their family, Dove being queen, Aly being spymaster, Kyprioth interfering in either of those two jobs, Kyprioth making another wager with/assignment for Aly… or whatever you can think of.
Request Fandom 4: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)
Dastan
I'm taking advantage of the recentness of this movie and the 'new big things are allowed in their first year' rule to request Dastan fic. :D I LOVE Dastan!
If you've read my other wishes you might notice that I have a love of irreverent trickster characters, and Dastan totally fits that. Plus, I am unashamed to admit that I've had a crush on Jake Gyllenhaal since, like Donnie Darko, so this is total synergy.
**If you are stuck on another request and would like to get into this one, it is just one movie, though it is relatively new and therefore more expensive to rent/not instantly netflix-able, so it might take a little effort to watch it. That said, I totally think that it's worth a watch, so there you go.**
So what I would like, other than unashamed Jake Dastan wonderfulness, is adventure. Another adventure pre or post movie (potentially even wee!Dastan, if your idea is wonderful and you think I'll love it). What does he tell the princess after they become engaged at the end? Do they have more adventures or settle down into boring ruling life? What about his brothers and father, since they've survived? What would he be like as a father? Or earlier, what was it like for Dastan suddenly getting a family and moving to the palace? What brotherly hijinks did they get up to? What about his friends and the guys in his unit?
I wrote some of those questions assuming that Dastan would hook up with Tamina, but that is totally not required. I'm fine with gen, het-ing, or slashing him with pretty much anyone, except maybe the evil dervish guys. That said, I'll pretty much try everything once, and so if you've got a wonderful, believable, totally explainable reason for Dastan/Dervish slash, I invite you to go for it. Convince me of what I've been missing. ;)
