Today (JST) is the birthday of the guy who made me find myself in this cruel cruel world, even though he lives 12h+ from my country. It's the birthday of the guy who opened the doors for me so I'd find the world where I live in right now - LJ? J-music? Fanfics? U-Kiss? All thanks to this guy.
His name is Tegoshi Yuya, and he's turning 23. YES, WHAT THE HELL, LOOK AT HIS FACE.
Well, just two years ago, I was kind of tired of downloading animes. I had just finished Lovely Complex and I was lurking around the site I downloaded things from to find a new series to watch (I miss doing this!). Well, how surprised was I when I found a section called "dramas". I asked myself - why there's a section named "dramas"? Tear-jerking animes? I clicked on it, and found out a section full of... soap operas. Among them, this special soap opera called my attention. Its name was "My Boss My Hero".
I found the name so nonsensical that I clicked on it just to read the synopsis. "After losing a millionaire negotiation because he's too stupid to do math, Sakaki Makio, the next boss of the yakuza gang Kantoo Sharp Fang, is sent back to high school by his father." Needless to say that I immediately began downloading the episodes, because it sounded way too fun. And it was, by the way.
Then I found him.
There, that guy behind Makio. Cute, silly face. Sakurakoji Jun. Naïve, gentle, smart, a little annoying, moderately bullied. He became my favorite character right during his first aparation, because he was the best character ever, goddamn it, and I'm talking about a show with GREAT characters. Makio, Kazuya, Tekamen, Kuroi, I love all of these like whoa but Jun? Jun was the cutest fucking thing ever. HE CREATED THE NICKNAME "MAKKY" FOR THE NEXT YAKUZA BOSS AROUND.
Cahem, as I was saying. I wanted to know who was this cute actor that played Jun, because I'm random like this, and I found out that his name was Tegoshi Yuya. What a gay name! Then, I discovered that he was actually in a band - "can he even sing?", I scoffed to myself. Later, regret would come. - and also discovered that he and another cute guy had sang the first opening and ending songs for Lovely Complex. The anime that I just had finished! Remember? I decided to watch some Tegomass - the name of such duo - videos on YT, searching specifically for Kiss ~Kaerimichi no Love Song~'s PV. A little meh, still a great song. Then, I decided to look up the whole band - NEWS? Weird name - and I stumbled on... fucking Sayaendou.
QUICK BEFORE THEY FIND US
Addiction. Passion. I had to know that band that was brave enough to climb on a stage on those horrible costumes and sing a song about peas and pirates. It was then that I became a NEWS' fan a.k.a. headline (still insisting on this) and the person I am today. U-Kiss came later rofl.
The important thing is...it didn't take me a week to realize that Tegoshi was nothing like Sakurakoji. At all. Tegoshi was witty, arrogant, restless, blond and full of a attitude that I didn't expect from someone who used to have CROOKED TEETH AND BAD HAIR.
So, Tegoshi can act. And he can sing (BOY HE CAN SING). And he's just so full of lulz that I couldn't even resist. Today, he's nothing more nothing less than my number 1. He's the top of my tops. He's above Alexander, for God's sake, THAT should mean something to you.
Today, boy is turning 23, but we all know he'll always be 13 at heart. Happy birthday, ギャル男. May you become God just like you wished some years ago, so then you can play with Messi and become a strong and cool matsuri man.
