A Very Short Visit
Jun felt the tug in his hair, the slight discomfort giving a stark contrast to the sensation of gliding his tongue over Hyde’s lower lip. He proceeded to lick the soft insides of Hyde’s cheeks, carefully swallowing the sputum collecting behind his own teeth. Jun felt Hyde’s moan and his heat and the insistent pressure of his hands against Jun’s tight pants, and Jun had no other recourse but to slash his lips across Hyde’s, intent on discovering all the tastes of Hyde’s mouth and committing them to memory.
(Later, drunk and eager to tell, Jun relates to Masaki how Hyde’s kiss was like a classic L’arc love song-loud, sensual and very, very intense.)
When Jun walked backstage for the usual post-concert meet and greet with L’arc, he expected seeing a concert entourage almost as large as Arashi’s, sharing some smokes with any of L’arc’s members and other artist friends (he saw Daigo and Gackt somewhere in the audience) and making small talk. He didn’t expect the chaos that came with L’arc’s concert retinue (scantily clad people lying everywhere, suited people talking in phones in various languages, makeup kits alongside gaming consoles, Tetsuya juggling bananas and shouting profanities to no one in particular as roadies made bets and looked on), he didn’t expect that Ken and Yukihiro would decline his offer of cigs, and he didn’t expect that instead of small talk, his own mouth would be occupied with doing something else entirely. He didn’t expect Hyde to tug at his shirt front and push him back against the wall as soon as he finished his congratulatory speech (drafted by Sho), didn’t expect Hyde's lips pressed against his even before the door to Hyde’s dressing room closed with a decisive thud.
And as suddenly as it began, the kiss was suddenly done. Hyde disentangled himself from Jun abruptly, turned away and wiped his mouth not so subtly. Jun raised an eyebrow, uncertain of why the kiss was over and what the kiss was for.
Somehow, they found themselves sitting quietly in Hyde’s empty dressing room. After what felt like a minute, Hyde said, “You have a nice neck.”
“Thank you. So do you,” Jun replied, not really knowing what to say. What do you say, really, to someone who unexpectedly kisses you and just as unexpectedly ends the kiss and then sits beside you as if his lips aren’t still a bit swollen and reddened by the almost ferocious osculation that happened just a few minutes ago and then goes on to tell you that you have a nice neck?
Hyde grinned, putting on his big-ass Prada glasses, not really caring that it was night time and that they were indoors.
Feeling the atmosphere getting more awkward by the second, Jun drew his eyes away from his careful study of his own studded jeans reflected on the mirror and ventured, “You taste like chocolates.”
Whoa, Jun cringed. Did he really have to say that? He could've said something about Hyde's braids, or his coat or what Jun assumed to be Hyde's hat perched over what looked like a sleeping cat, but no, he had to say something that sounded like it was from an Ohmiya SK skit, a line Kazunari’s Yuuji would say after Ohmiya had shown all the fans the manifestation of their Final Love, something Satoshi’s Taka would giggle to. Damn.
“I’ve quit smoking. I need to keep my mouth busy,” Hyde informed him, gesturing to the boxes of chocolates littering his dresser.
Jun paused. “Wait, did you kiss me because your mouth was bored?”
Hyde blinked behind his gigantic shades, almost flustered, and articulated various half-finished sentences. He ended lamely with, “I guess I really just wanted to thank you for watching our concert.”
Jun opened his mouth, and deciding to keep his thoughts to himself, shut them again.
“And I’ve always thought you were hot.”
Oh, Jun thought. And before he could launch on an oratorical piece about how he was studying live performances for Arashi’s future concerts (and embarrass himself by veering into an off-tangent litany of how sexy he found Hyde), Jun gave the shorter man a curt nod before standing to his full height.
Only to be pulled down again for another round of kissing.
“And this,” Hyde said against Jun’s mouth, “is for the flowers.”
After a few weeks, when Jun receives a phone mail from Sho saying he’ll be watching the final concert of L’arc’s 20th anniversary, he suggests sending another floral wreath on Arashi’s behalf. Be sure to visit Hyde-san after the concert, Jun mails Sho, biting back a grin.
