Well, I had a LOT of help. I was in this program my college offered called the McNair progran. They paid for my conference trips, grad school visits, application fees, summer internships, GRE prep classes... If your school offers it and you're either a minority or your parents are low-income, I highly, highly suggest you join

Well, my former advisor has an anger management problem. He refers to students as "the little fuckers" and yells and curses you out for every little thing. He had really specific requirements for everything. He felt that his version of anthropology was the only correct version and that if you had another theoritical framework you were just wrong. He preselects the students he wants you to pass and fail without reading their essays and gets mad at you if you disagree with who should be passed or failed. He makes you come an hour early to class if you are his teaching assistant. He disregards methodology and takes it as a compliment if another professor accusses him of making things up. Worst professor ever
