I think Genesis is a character pretty hard to write about. Most of the others, we know from the various FFVII works, but Angeal and Genesis' story was condensed from start to finish in one game, so we didn't get that much history compared to the others.

Angeal is a pretty easy guy to get, I think. All this 'honor and pride and follow your dream and I won't be a monster' talks are pretty to understand. In fact, if it wasn't for the 'I prefer to kill myself than continue like that', he'd feel a bit bland. I can't decide if he was a total coward who left Zack with an absolute mess or if he was that tortured by the idea of going the monster way...

Genesis, on the other side, was a lot more complicated to understand, for me. Of course, there was the obvious jealousy toward Sephiroth, but we never did got the story of how he became so obsessed by "Loveless" or why he thought it held all secrets of the universe. Sometimes I feel like if it hadn't been for Sephiroth's presence, Genesis would have gone a very different way. Plus, there's the fact that by the beginning of the story, he was already AWOL, so...

I tend to play up Genesis's "I want to be the very best, like no one ever was", mainly because I was stuck in a similar situation at around the same time. (Basically, going from The Smart One in primary to One of the Smart Ones in secondary.)

As for Loveless, I want to read the whole thing. You know, for research. I will now hold my breath for Square-Enix to get to writing it.

Aye, that tends to leave a mark. And Genesis' way of talking/acting does lend itself very well for that sort of plot, doesn't it? ^^

Ah, Loveless. I wonder how twisted the guy who thought about this story was. I mean, it's like something that came straight from the Shakespeare area or something. I'd really like to know/read the final chapter too!

xD I wouldn't get my hopes to high for that ;p
