Ryan Adams. If you ever get a chance to see him live do it. I didn't think it was possible but he was even better live than he is on his albums. His voice his so strong and he goes way beyond what he does in the studio. He was totally lit the entire time, but he still rocked everybody's face off. I was afraid that he would have some sort of breakdown when people started yelling stuff at him from the crowd, but I think he was just at that perfect level of messed up where everythng just kind of rolled off of his shoulders and he was talkative and funny and really entertaining. I think some of the jams would have been a little more enjoyable if i had been under the influence, but it was still so awesome.
here's what I remember of the set list off of the top of my head:
Magnolia Mountain
Dear Chicago
Lucy My Gal
Bartering Lines
Oh My Sweet Carolina
Rescue Blues
Where the Stars Go Blue
Easy Plateau
It Takes Two
Good Night Rose
Pearls on a String
There were more that I'm not remembering. They closed with "Pearls on a String" - two acoustic guitars, the whole band singing harmony at the edge of the stage with the house lights on - it was incredible.
