As Cliche as this may sound...
The highlight of my summer came this evening in the form of these words:
"I sort of missed you"
Let's reenact the scene:
Phone: Ring a ling a ling
[Gigi picks up the phone]
Unknown Person: Hello? Does Gigi live here?
Me: This is she! [Inside thoughts: It can only be---]
Person: Hey Gigi! This is Calvin!
Me: Calvin!!!! [Oh wondrous little boy! One of my favorite students from Wisdom!]
[It gets even better]
[in a matter of fact tone that is characteristic of him] Calvin: I sort of missed you
. SWOON .
Gigi had melted down by this point. Seriously, there is NOTHING better in the world than hearing someone (kids make it sound EVEN BETTER) say that he/she misses you.
Definitely about to burst with happiness and sheer joy.
Anyhow, then he proceeded to tell me about his week and all of the Wisdom activities (most of them including assault on TAs ;) )...
He said "I sort of miss you" TWICE!!!! :D
Of course, I told him that I missed him too.
I don't think I've been so giddy in awhile. This beats chic pulp fiction.
