You remember ages ago, when like everyone had a livejournal and it was way more sociable? It feels like everyone has moved on to sites like Facebook, Twitter, or like, actual blogs where you're supposed to write about serious stuff instead of an essay about your breakfast or something. I stubbornly stick to LJ over facebook and especially twitter for anything that's not just a link I want to share.

I also follow people here still, I prefer discussions that are longer than 140 characters and in proper english. :)

It's not really the discussions, cause I've had plenty of decent discussions on FB and blogs. It's more that... there's a push toward using your real identity and it becomes a PR exercise instead of a friendly chat. Of course, even if you do write stuff using your real name, it doesn't necessarily mean anyone cares. And if you use a pseudonym, it doesn't mean it can't be linked with you some time in the future. The internet never forgets!
